BOOK-SCANDAL. This is a tale of intrigue surrounding an antique rug, which, legend has it, is the famed 'Shah Abbas' rug that had stirred heated debate across the three continents: in Europe, Asia and America . Some experts insist that it is a Turkish rug, others believe it to be Persian. This debate has come to involve representatives of major museums, appraisal firms, auction houses Christie's and Sotheby's, as well as international legal experts, the mafia and the FBI.

Author of Christie's unmasked
Otabek Teshabekov answering questions of journalists regarding his book Christie's Unmasked in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The book also tells the story of Otabek Teshabekov - an Uzbek businessman who documents exposing purpetrators of fraud, taking part in conspiracies and intrigue on an international scale. A masterful tale of suspense where the East vs. the West.

"Christie's Unmasked" is a really sensational story about the disclosure of the biggest London auction house Christie's financial intrigues. The story started from the unique Persian carpet, which, is a real historical piece of  art, attracted such an intensity of emotions that the reader hadn't ever dreamed of.

All of a sudden, the author found himself among the group of charlatans of international scale, craving to get his precious carpet into their grabby hands, but unwilling to reveal the real price of the carpet to his owner. However, our hero didn't give up and decided to find out everything himself. The book describes

Otabek's adventures in London, the story of his love, his defeated hopes, and big disappointment in those people whom he entrusted his treasure in the beginning of the story. In his search for the truth, he had to travel around half of the world, and finally found out the real price of his carpet, thus showing up the charlatans in their true colors. However, the price which the author had to pay for the truth was too high.

Otabek decided that such turn of events is not a reason yet to drop down his head and in a short while created his own corporation called "Muborak".  At the same time, he started to work on his book, where he wrote about all his adventures. Most of the names, events and documents, as well as photographs that appear in this book are real.

It's a captivating story where several genres interweave with each other in a fancy way: adventures give place to a real detective and gradually turn into a sad story of unshared love. The book grabs reader's attention at once, and, having started, you just can't stop reading until you find yourself at the end of the book. Obviously, the book is destined to be a bestseller, because as early as it is, before even being presented to the public, it evoked such a great interest from the people all over the world.

However, even this didn't satisfy the author's ambitions. He decided to turn his book into a real state of the art, not less precious than the famous Persian carpet the story describes. A presentation of the book was planned for January 2008 at the Hotel Intercontinental in London and in the same event, a unique book covered form dear leather, gold and platinum was supposed to be auctioned. Unfortunately for the second time, Otabek Teshabekov didn't get an entry Visa to the UK and this presentation had been postponed and will take place on December 2008 in Dubai, the capital of the Emirates.

If you are interested in the forthcoming auction, more information is provided in the auction section of this site. The starting price of the book will be announced at the day of the auction and this is going to be the first step to open a new auction house under the name "Muborak".

For the first time in history, the famous London auction house Christie's, which has been exhibiting and selling antiques for more than 230 years is going to become the subject of an auction organized by Otabek Teshabekov.
